Manufacturing Engineer (Experience with manufacturing operations in the design of digital tools and Industry 4.0 integration)
Location:
Mossville, IL Job Description:
Key Responsibilities Manufacturing & Operational Leadership Represent manufacturing operations in the design of digital tools (e.g., OEE, connected equipment, digital twins, production analytics) Define process intent, loss mechanisms, and operational constraints to guide solution development Ensure digital capabilities align with shop floor realities, safety standards, and quality systems Support pilot deployments and validate solutions in live manufacturing environments Digital Product & DevOps Collaboration Partner with IT and product teams using Azure DevOps to develop manufacturing capabilities Create and refine Epics, Features, and Acceptance Criteria that reflect manufacturing outcomes Contribute to Agile planning, backlog refinement, and incremental delivery (MDP → MVP → MMP) Support trade off decisions between standardization, localization, and scalability
Education & Experience Required:
Years of experience: 10+years Degree requirement: BS Degree; Open for master's - 7 years Do you accept internships as job experience: Yes Are there past or additional job titles or roles that would provide comparable background to this role: Lean Blackbelt, Manufacturing Project Engineer Top 3 Skills Experience working in manufacturing or production environments (machining, assembly, fabrication, etc.) Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, equipment behavior, and process flows Experience collaborating with IT, software, or digital product teams Additional Technical Skills (Required) Working knowledge of Agile delivery concepts and Azure DevOps (or similar platforms) (Desired) Experience supporting or delivering digital manufacturing products (OEE, MES, analytics, connected equipment, digital twins) Familiarity with manufacturing data sources (PLC, SCADA, MES, CMMS, historians) Experience in multi site manufacturing environments Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD concepts, or digital product lifecycle models Experience supporting pilot to scale digital implementations Soft Skills Ability to write clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria Strong communication and facilitation skills across technical and non technical teams
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
