Job Description

Job Summary This Supplier Engineer - Electronics role supports Insulet's global supply chain by partnering with suppliers that manufacture electronic components used in medical devices. The position is responsible for managing supplier-related engineering activities including new product introductions, process validations, continuous improvement projects, quality investigations, and supplier performance support. Working closely with cross-functional teams and external suppliers, the engineer will help solve technical issues, drive process improvements, analyze data, and ensure compliance with medical device quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in manufacturing, quality, or supplier engineering who enjoys collaborating with suppliers, leading projects, and improving processes in a regulated environment. Supplier Engineer - Electronics Position Summary The Supplier Engineer is a key contributor within the Supplier Development Engineering team, supporting Insulet's global supply chain of electronic components. This role applies engineering knowledge to execute and drive supplier-related activities across sustaining engineering, continuous improvement initiatives and new product introduction (NPI). The engineer operates with growing independence, owning defined workstreams, solving moderately complex problems, and serving as a day-to-day technical interface with suppliers, while still receiving guidance on more complex or ambiguous challenges. Key Responsibilities Serve as the day-to-day technical liaison between internal teams and suppliers for assigned components or projects Own execution of defined workstreams within supplier engineering projects (e.g., NPI, sustaining, Continuous improvement initiatives) Plan and execute engineering qualification activities with guidance; contribute to and review qualification documentation Track project timelines, risks, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with cross-functional partners Support and lead portions of technical investigations related to supplier or product issues Respond to operational escalations and independently resolve routine to moderately complex issues Build and maintain effective working relationships with assigned suppliers Ensure compliance with medical device standards and internal quality systems Contribute to cost reduction, material changes, and product transfer activities Apply structured problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone) to identify root cause and implement corrective actions Develop and review process flows and support process validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) Perform and interpret statistical analyses (e.g., Gage
R&R, SPC
) with moderate guidance Support supplier selection and capability assessments for new or existing components Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline are preferred. 2-4 years of experience in supplier engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or related field is strongly preferred Experience executing engineering or cross-functional projects Experience interfacing with suppliers or external partners Preferred Skills & Competencies Working knowledge of PCBA and/or battery manufacturing processes Ability to assess basic design for manufacturability (DFM) considerations Experience supporting process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) Proficiency with root cause analysis tools (8D, A3, Fishbone, 5 Whys) Working knowledge of statistical tools (Gage R&R, SPC, basic DOE exposure) Ability to analyze data and recommend solutions for moderately complex issues Familiarity with FDA (21 CFR Part 820), ISO 13485, CAPA, GMP Understanding of PFMEA/DFMEA and CTQ concepts Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies Experience supporting: NPI projects, Product transfers, Cost savings or material changes Additional Requirements On-site work (office, lab, manufacturing) Up to 25% travel

Compensation & Benefits:
For U.S.-based positions only, the annual base salary range for this role is $70,400.00 - $105,575.00 This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
