Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Electronic & Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and support of advanced embedded electronic systems and products. This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for driving hardware, firmware, and software initiatives from concept through production while supporting manufacturing, testing, and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in embedded systems, electronic design, and firmware development, along with strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. This role requires both strategic technical oversight and hands-on engineering involvement within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of embedded electronic systems, including hardware, firmware, and supporting software applications Define system architecture, technical specifications, and product requirements Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits with a focus on reliability, manufacturability, and performance Develop embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems using C/C++ Create and maintain software applications for testing, calibration, diagnostics, and production support Design PCB schematics and layouts using Altium, KiCad, or similar design tools Perform system bring-up, debugging, validation, testing, and troubleshooting across hardware and firmware platforms Develop production test strategies, validation systems, and test fixtures Support manufacturing, assembly, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives Participate in design reviews and ensure products meet performance, quality, and reliability standards Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and quality teams throughout the product lifecycle Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required; Master's degree preferred 10-15+ years of experience in embedded systems and electronic product development Strong expertise in embedded firmware development using C/C++ Extensive experience with analog and digital circuit design and PCB development Hands-on experience with hardware debugging, system integration, and troubleshooting Familiarity with manufacturing environments, production test systems, and product support Experience with Python, C#, .NET, or similar programming tools is a plus Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies preferred Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, and mentoring skills Work Environment This role operates within both engineering and manufacturing environments and requires close collaboration across departments. The position involves hands-on technical work, support of production activities, and active participation in product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Pay:
$120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
