Engineering Technician

Summary:

Supports engineering test and build activities by setting up test equipment, troubleshooting electronic assemblies, building fixtures and harnesses, and maintaining test documentation. Job Requirements A.S. in Electronics, two-year technical diploma, equivalent military certification, or equivalent experience Minimum 1 year of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering Working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing Understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and methods, including multimeters and oscilloscopes Hands-on troubleshooting experience to identify root cause Ability to read engineering documents such as schematics and diagrams Preferred Skills 3 or more years of related experience Soldering experience Mechanical aptitude Familiarity with manufacturing processes and electronic components Experience in one or more of the following areas: 3D printing Electronics Electrician or electrical contracting High voltage electrical safety Electric motor repair On-road or off-road automotive repair Communication or networking hardware Computer repair Robotics Automation Mechatronics HVAC Farming Job Responsibilities Work with design and test engineers to build test fixtures and support test setup Set up dynamometers for electric motor and inverter testing Inspect and test electronic assemblies to determine causes of defects Rework products to company and industry standards Build test harnesses, loads, and circuit boards to support product design Design and build engineering test fixtures Perform circuitry debugging and product testing Maintain equipment used for testing and related activities Document and maintain records of work performed Report process or design problems to supervision and assist with corrective actions Perform additional assigned tasks related to engineering support and testing
