Job Description

This position includes a sign on bonus of $5,000 which is divided into two payments of $2,500 each. This full-time faculty position is a nine-month position, requiring a presence on campus with the faculty member's primary efforts focused on teaching and learning, academic excellence and student success. Primary responsibilities include designing and implementing learning strategies for students in Electronics Engineering Technology. This position reports directly to the Division Chair of Skilled Trades. Davidson Davie Community College faculty members have the following responsibilities including, but not limited to:
  • Promote the college mission, vision and values
  • Teach assigned courses at various locations to meet program needs, including, but not limited to day, evening, weekend, and online
  • Ensure that each class session contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency
  • Evaluate student progress and provide appropriate, timely feedback
  • Provide and/or facilitate quality experiences in the learning environment(s) to meet program needs
  • Develop course syllabi and provide appropriate written information to students concerning course evaluation and criteria
  • Incorporate appropriate instructional technology to enhance student learning
  • Assist in the evaluation of courses and programs
  • Prepare and submit instructional records, reports and grades established by institutional policy.
  • Participate in professional development to enhance instructional and technical skills
  • Attend appropriate internal and external meetings
  • Assist in student recruitment and retention
  • Maintain accessibility to students, faculty and staff
  • Maintain a high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College.
Successful candidates will possess:
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Electronics Engineering Technology or closely related field
  • Minimum of two years of work experience in an advanced manufacturing setting
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field
  • Teaching experience in a community college
  • Significant industry experience/training with PLC's and robotics
  • ISA certification in Automation
  • Fanuc robotics certification
  • PLC certification
