As a member of a small creative team, the automation engineer will be commissioning and repairing electronic programable motion control systems installed across the globe. Work location will be split between Las Vegas headquarters and customer installation sites. Position requires extended travel periods (domestic and international) as well as short notice emergency service trips. Work is often independent, and the candidate must have strong client relationship skills. Responsibilities Shop wiring, programming, and commissioning of control systems Onsite installation and commissioning of control systems Onsite repair and maintenance of control systems Member of 24/7 customer support network capable of providing prompt customer service via email, text and phone Be available for emergency, international travel to solve time critical equipment issues Be available for long term travel to install and commission systems Prepare installation, commissioning, and maintenance documentation for installations. Train end-users on system usage Continuing research of emerging control systems and technique Requirements Mechatronic or robotics background Beckhoff TwinCAT configuration and setup experience Able to read electrical and mechanical schematics PLC (IEC 61131) programming Experience with synchronous and asynchronous AC motor tuning Strong aptitude for electrical/mechanical fault finding and problem solving Knowledge of functional safety requirements for industrial control systems Knowledge of ethernet based network installation and diagnostics Windows OS setup and troubleshooting Bachelors degree from accredited university or 4 years related work experience.
