Job Description

KEY NOTE
This is a U.S.Northeast Region field service position consisting of virtual work, combined with extensive regional travel to customer locations as well as periodic travel to our Headquarters in Conklin, NY.
Summary:
The Field Engineer will install, service, and maintain Universal machines and systems. The role will work directly with and sometimes train customer users on operation, programming and maintenance of machines and systems.
Principal Accountabilities:
Plans Customer installations by coordinating customer support logistics and site preparation. Installs UIC machines and systems ensuring customer acceptance is completed in a timely manner. Trains customers on proper operation, programming, and maintenance of UIC machines and systems. Monitors customer's workflow, work methods, and processes. Makes operational or process recommendations to achieve optimal machine and systems performance. Services customer accounts. Performs preventative maintenance, machine and process audits, technical phone support and other services. Troubleshoots and resolves machine and system problems. Repairs, updates, and retrofits machines and systems with UIC hardware, spare parts, and software solutions. Submits reports on machine and system installations, warranty repairs, overall performance levels, problems, and product improvement or enhancement opportunities to UIC product teams and engineering personnel. Collects and analyzes machine and systems performance data as required.
Minimum Requirements:
BS or BT degree in a technical discipline OR relevant Associate's Degree or equivalent course work in vocational or military training, highly preferred. 2+ years related experience required. Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and problem solving skills are required. Computer literacy is required.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee must occasionally move heavy objects. Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis. Position requires the ability to understand and interpret detailed documents and drawings. Requires the ability to communicate clearly in reports and giving presentations. Occasional overtime evening and weekend work required. Ability to travel to customer sites on next-flight (20%+) or regional travel (50%+) basis is routinely required, along with occasional attendance at product training courses, company meetings or technical conferences. Target Hourly Pay Rate:
$35.00/hr - $41.00/hr + Robust Benefits
