Job Summary:

Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking a Customer Engineer Req #H6721 in Hillsboro, OR, to: Perform startups through Tier II including process qualifications with assistance. Understand all qualifications performed on tool and verifies operational quality (process qualification) of systems equipment. Plan for and completes all levels of preventative and corrective maintenance within timelines. Troubleshoot key technical issues at the component level. Use routine process data and on site data logging functions to diagnose system downs. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues. Drive corrective processes through key stakeholders (TSE, GRC, GPS, etc.) or escalates as appropriate. Communicate with the customer other engineers on technical issues and escalations. Travel to clients' sites required over 10% (domestic).

Requirements:

Associate's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electronic or Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 4 years of experience as Customer Engineer or any occupation in which Customer Engineering experience was gained.

Education or experience must include:

1) At least 3 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining PDC (Process Diagnostics and Control ) MDP based tools; 2) Metal Deposition Product (MDP) technologies; 3) Experience operating and maintaining high vacuum and high voltage systems; 4) Tool/system schematics; 5) Diagnose electronic and mechanical problems using schematics; and 6) System installation, start-up, troubleshooting, and ongoing service/maintenance.

Salary Range:
