Electrical Engineer Power Electronic Primary Responsibilities The electrical engineering role will provide you the opportunity to develop your career, skills, and get some exciting experiences including: Supporting the development and testing of Advanced Electrical Power Systems for US Navy ship programs Supporting design and analysis for new naval ship power electronics initiatives Working with subject matter experts, vendors, and ships force to sustain, verify, and validate power electronics systems Responsibilities Work with power electronics equipment such as Relays (incl. solid state), DC/DC and DC/AC solid state converters, switch boards, circuit / bus tie breakers, and motor drives. 450VAC and ideally 4160VAC/1000VDC/13800VAC or higher. Create and run test procedures Create or update engineering analysis and technical manuals Review or update electrical drawings Support initiatives to upgrade or modernize power electronics equipment Support design reviews and OEM test results review Travel up to 25% to support the efforts above Must be able to be in Philly navy yard at least 3 days a week up to 5. It could also be 5 days a week if the project/team is in the lifecycle of lab or ship testing
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering required 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering including power electronics Ability to learn quickly and work on several projects concurrently Can get secret clearance; active clearance preferred
