$80/hr Role Overview BEPC is seeking an experienced APU Controls Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and verification of control systems for Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) within a cutting-edge aerospace development program. This role will be responsible for developing advanced control system solutions, implementing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies, and ensuring successful integration and validation of safety-critical aerospace systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace controls, systems engineering, requirements management, and control system integration, with experience supporting complex aerospace development programs. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop control system components, including Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and electronic controllers for a new APU program. Execute and document engineering trade studies to support system architecture and design decisions. Develop and implement MBSE and digital engineering architectures for APU controls development. Integrate control systems with Auxiliary Power Units and support system-level verification and validation activities. Develop, analyze, decompose, validate, and manage control system requirements. Design, develop, and implement control algorithms and software solutions for APU applications. Support control system design, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and validation efforts. Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements. Provide technical guidance, coaching, and support to engineering team members when required. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. Minimum 8 years of systems engineering experience supporting safety-critical aerospace development programs. Strong knowledge of control systems engineering principles, methodologies, and processes. Experience with control system design, implementation, integration, testing, and validation. Experience with requirements development, analysis, decomposition, and verification. Experience supporting system integration activities within aerospace environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing aerospace control systems and propulsion-related applications. Knowledge of Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) systems and aircraft integration. Experience with IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) tools, including DOORS NG, EWM, and ETM. Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler and MBSE methodologies. Experience conducting and documenting engineering trade studies. Knowledge of gas turbine engine control system components, including electronic controllers, fuel controls, lubrication modules, wire harnesses, start motors, oil level sensors, speed sensors, temperature sensors, and pressure sensors. Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulations related to control systems. Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills. Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and make sound technical decisions.
