Job Title:
Power Electronics Engineer Job Description The Power Electronics Engineer will be responsible for designing, testing, and debugging power converters. This role involves developing products from concept through to their introduction into high-volume production, focusing on advanced power electronics such as inverters and converters using high-power components. Responsibilities Design and develop power converters and electronic circuits. Test and debug power electronic circuits to ensure functionality. Work on product development from initial concept through to high-volume production. Design advanced power electronics, including inverters and converters, using high power components. Select appropriate components and create schematic captures for designs. Essential Skills Proficiency in power electronics and schematic capture. Experience with Altium for circuit design. Ability to debug power electronic circuits. Understanding of 3-phase power systems. Proficiency in hardware, digital, and analog design. Experience in designing DC/AC circuits and working with ac/dc motors. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics. Lead Engineer position requires 8+ years of experience. Familiarity with SiC and GaN devices-based power converter design. Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DC/AC electronics load, power sources, and probes. Simulation experience with tools like Matlab Simulink, PLECS, or LTSpice. Work Environment The engineering teams work in close collaboration within a Waterfall development process. The role offers the opportunity to support both new product development and next-generation high power technology, with engineers' work directly impacting products going to market. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cerritos, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $105.00 - $132.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
