Job Description

Summary/Objective:
The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for leading technical design development, drafting system schematics, and creating detailed project proposals to deliver innovative and high-quality AV systems that meet client needs.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Participate in client meetings and collaborate with Account Executives to define AV requirements and develop tailored solutions.
  • Engage with project stakeholders, including Project Managers, Architects, client stakeholders and other consultants, on technical and architectural coordination.
  • Review project documentation, including RFPs, as-built system drawings, and architectural drawings.
  • Lead the technical design and development of AV systems, ensuring alignment with client needs, budget constraints, and architectural considerations.
  • Research and recommend AV technologies to enhance system performance, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Create detailed system schematics using AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project specifications.
  • Develop comprehensive project proposals, including accurate equipment specifications, labor estimates, and cabling costs.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain equipment pricing and project registrations and ensure the sourcing of appropriate AV equipment and materials.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of system designs, quotes, and approvals for seamless execution by project team.
  • Provide ongoing technical guidance to project teams during project implementation.
  • Engage with manufacturers to stay informed on emerging AV technologies, trends, and industry advancements.
  • Undertake any other tasks or responsibilities as directed by the immediate supervisor.

Ability to work independently and effectively manage schedule with minimal supervision Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and challenges, distill key insights, and effectively communicate clear, actionable next steps to drive team execution. Ability to oversee multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Professional demeanor and presentation Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team environment Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Required Certification/Experience High school diploma or equivalent A minimum of 5 years of AV or related industry experience Proficient in Microsoft Excel Proven experience in AV system design and engineering Strong knowledge of AV standards, signal processing, and best practices Basic understanding of IP networking Experience with Enterprise UC Platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet)
Preferred Certification/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree AVIXA CTS or CTS-D certifications Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software. AV Manufacturer training -
Q-SYS, Biamp, Crestron, Extron, AVIXA, Shure Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
  • While regular office attendance is preferred, this role is open to remote work depending on the candidate
