Job Title:
Service Engineer Job Description The Service Engineer will travel to customer sites in Finland and Manitowoc to support the repair and servicing of cranes that are currently being produced. This role focuses on hands-on troubleshooting, electrical service, and field support to ensure that industrial lifting equipment operates safely and reliably. Responsibilities Travel to crane production sites in Finland and Manitowoc to perform on-site service and repair work. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues on cranes and related industrial equipment using systematic problem-solving methods. Carry out electrical service tasks, including inspection, testing, and repair of wiring and electrical components. Support the repair and adjustment of cranes during and after the production process to ensure proper operation. Collaborate with on-site teams and other technical staff to identify root causes of equipment problems and implement effective solutions. Document service activities, findings, and repairs in a clear and organized manner. Follow established safety procedures and best practices while working around industrial equipment and electrical systems. Provide field service support as needed, adapting to changing priorities and schedules in a production environment. Essential Skills Minimum 5 years of field service technician (FST) experience working with industrial equipment. Minimum 5 years of experience working around electrical wires and systems. Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues on industrial equipment. Hands-on field service experience, including on-site repairs and adjustments. Ability to perform electrical service work safely and accurately. Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally and domestically as required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience servicing cranes or similar heavy industrial machinery. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, such as wiring diagrams and equipment manuals. Strong communication skills to work effectively with production and service teams. Proactive, solution-oriented approach to resolving equipment issues in the field. Work Environment This role is primarily field-based and requires frequent travel to crane production facilities in Finland and Manitowoc, so a valid passport is necessary. The Service Engineer will work in active industrial and manufacturing environments, often in close proximity to heavy machinery and electrical systems. The work involves hands-on tasks, time on the production floor, and collaboration with technical and production personnel. The schedule may vary depending on service needs and project timelines, and the role requires comfort with working in a dynamic, equipment-intensive setting while following all safety and site requirements, including appropriate workwear and personal protective equipment as provided or required on-site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Berlin, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
