TECHNICAL DIRECTOR & AV ENGINEER
Primary Function :
Responsible to the church for overseeing and facilitating the live production needs at the Nashville First downtown campus. This role interfaces with worship leadership and a volunteer production team to ensure that Sunday services and weekly events have the appropriate level of live production support. Must model teamwork, service, and integrity to foster a positive and productive work environment. Responsibilities Serve as the primary audio/visual equipment operator for music performances and events. Being on site during the Sunday morning services to lead and oversee the production team. If absent, responsible for identifying a qualified and suitable substitute to fulfill this role. Recruiting, training, and scheduling the production workers and volunteers for the church. Meeting weekly with the staff to discuss and prepare for weekend services. Recording/editing/uploading weekly audio podcasts of services Performing routine preventative maintenance on production equipment. Keeping a clean and organized environment on stages, in storage rooms, and at tech booths. Coordinating production details and personnel for ministry events requiring tech support throughout the week. Work on site to prepare for upcoming events, weekend service preparation, and to meet with campus staff as necessary. Maintain operational understanding of current audio/visual/lighting/backline technologies and production vendors. Ensure that all equipment is used safely, in accordance with proper industry standards. Attending weekly staff meetings Completing other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications Strong working knowledge of audio, video, lighting, and related live production systems, including the following fundamentals: Audio routing, signal flow, gain structure, effects, and dynamics o Lighting programming and data distribution Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in the field of live production technology (preferred) or studio production 2 years' experience as a key church production volunteer or church production staff Strong organizational skills, including adherence to commitments, schedules, and deadlines Strong interpersonal communication skills Collaborates well with others to accomplish group tasks. A growing relationship with Jesus Christ, as evidenced by participation in personal and/or small group Bible study and regular worship opportunities. A member of our church, or willingness to join after employment.
