Job Description

Marine Electronics Product Support Specialist Position Summary The Marine Electronics Product Support Specialist serves as a technical expert within the service organization, providing advanced product support, troubleshooting, training, and field service for marine electronic systems. This role combines office-based technical assistance with occasional travel to customer vessels, dealer locations, industry events, and training sessions. The successful candidate will deliver high-level technical support while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction and staying current with evolving marine technologies. Key Responsibilities Technical Support
  • Provide expert troubleshooting and technical assistance to dealers, service providers, and end users via phone, email, and web-based platforms.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving marine electronic, navigation, communication, and vessel monitoring systems.
  • Recommend repair solutions, installation procedures, and replacement components. Field Service
  • Travel periodically to customer vessels and service locations to perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, system integration, and commissioning activities.
  • Support installation and interface of marine electronics with third-party vessel systems and equipment. Product Development & Testing
  • Evaluate new products, software updates, and system enhancements.
  • Conduct testing and provide feedback to engineering and product development teams.
  • Research competitive technologies and industry trends. Training & Documentation
  • Develop technical training materials and support documentation.
  • Conduct product training seminars and technical workshops for dealers, service technicians, and customers. Industry Support
  • Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events.
  • Provide technical demonstrations and customer support during events. Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Technical education, vocational training, or equivalent experience in electronics, electrical systems, or related disciplines preferred.
  • Several years of hands-on experience supporting marine electronics, navigation systems, communication equipment, or related technologies.
  • Military or commercial experience with electronic systems may be considered equivalent.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with electronic and integrated vessel systems. Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of marine electronics, radar, navigation, communication, and vessel control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computer-based diagnostic tools.
  • Experience using electronic test equipment and hand tools. Certifications & Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
  • Passport eligibility for potential domestic and international travel.
  • Ability to obtain industry-specific communications and electronics certifications when required. Core Competencies

  • Ability to work onboard vessels and in marine environments.
