BR Description:
You will be the Chief Engineer (Principal)- Avionics & Open Mission Systems for the Avionics & Open Mission Systems team which is responsible for advanced avionics and mission system development. What You Will Be Doing As the Chief Engineer (Principal)
- Avionics & Open Mission Systems you will be responsible for providing architectural integrity, engineering governance, and lifecycle technical oversight across development, integration, certification, and sustainment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Serve as the Chief Technical Authority for avionics and mission systems. Define and maintain architectures aligned with OMS, MOSA, SOSA, and AMS-GRA. Establish engineering governance, baselines, and risk management processes. Chair or support technical reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR. Oversee avionics integration, qualification, and certification activities. Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Master's preferred).
- 12+ years of avionics engineering experience.
- Experienced Lead Systems Engineer, or Principal Engineer.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OMS, MOSA, SOSA, and/or AMS-GRA.
- Strong technical leadership and communication skills.
Desired Skills:
- Experience as a Chief Engineer
- Experience with military or safety-critical avionics systems.
- Experience with fighter or advanced tactical aircraft avionics.
- Familiarity with SOSA, FACE, VPX, and VITA standards.
- Experience supporting DoD acquisition programs.
- Active DoD security clearance.

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
