Assignments include the following:
Develops engineering designs and site adaption of standard engineering designs. Conduct site surveys for facilities and systems, as well as develops and coordines project scope, cost estimes, facility and NAS risk mitigion, project schedules, resource requirements, and project closeout for assigned projects. Conducts engineering analysis and studies for establishment, sustainment and maintenance projects. Estimes, manages, and accounts for funding of assigned projects. Inities, modifies, and assesses task orders/work releases/contracts with TSSC, NISC, and others in response to changes in scope, performance and cost. Reviews and approves contractor submittal. Interfaces with Logistics on contract award, contract modificions and merials acquisitions. Performs the full range of construction and/or installion activities including the conduct of daily operions, overall schedule reviews, drawing approvals, project coordinion, safety and environmental requirements, and interfacing with Logistics on contract award, contract modificions and merial acquisitions. Performs the full range of COR/TOR duties for implemention construction and installion activities. Accountable for ensuring conformance with established FAA regulions, policies, and procedures. Contacts are internal and external. May act as a key technical point of contact for assigned activities. Contributes to the preparion of management/technical reports or contractual documents, and may be called upon to communice the overall results of a project or work activity to FAA management, the aviion and aerospace industries, and other external parties. Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, but allow considerable discretion to select the most approprie approach or to recommend new approaches. Provides recommendions to improve work processes. Provides guidance to lower-level staff to solve difficult technical issues. Professional Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with least one program accredited by (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) stics, dynamics; (b) strength of merials (stress-strain relionships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nure and properties of merials (reling particle and aggrege structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, he transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
