Systems will include a complete range of single-phase and three-phase UPS systems, switchgear, battery plants, DC plants, STS, PDUs, emergency lighting inverters, and associated peripherals. Fundamental knowledge of electrical distribution systems, basic test and measurement equipment, electrical code and IEEE requirements, and in-depth understanding of electronic principles is required. A high level of customer service skills is required, along with the ability to travel regionally on an as-needed basis. Essential Responsibilities Perform startup/commissioning on UPS/critical power equipment across various product lines, including single-module and multi-module systems Perform preventive maintenance on various makes and models of single-module and multi-module systems Perform unscheduled maintenance and repairs on UPS/critical power systems up to 1000 kVA Perform basic power audits of customer distribution systems Document all required information for each site visit, including UPS/critical power systems and DC/battery plants Collaborate with team members to complete custom and large installation projects Respond promptly and professionally to emergency service calls, including holidays and weekends Coordinate with OEMs for software upgrades and required repairs Stay current on revisions, updates, and new technologies across UPS/critical power systems Perform site visits, technical evaluations, and complete critical action, status, and field service reports Support warranty contract sales efforts as needed Maintain accuracy and integrity of site information and reporting to leadership Train other Field Service Engineers on product knowledge as required Properly document, label, and return defective parts to the designated location Educate customers on the operation of their equipment and communicate issues in a clear, beneficial manner Perform other duties as assigned and attend customer meetings as requested Required Skills Strong technical knowledge of electronic and electrical component theory Ability to work independently with general direction and minimal supervision Exercise sound judgment while operating within established policies and guidelines Adherence to all safety policies, practices, and procedures Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams, technical documentation, blueprints, and regulations Ability to write service reports and procedures, and effectively communicate with customers and internal stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical instructions Proficient in computer applications, including email, databases, word processing, and spreadsheets Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously 8-10 years of UPS maintenance, installation, and repair experience on major brands (e.g., Eaton, APC, MGE, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Vertiv, etc.) OEM factory training certifications preferred Working knowledge of UPS communication protocols Familiarity with generator, ATS, and fire alarm systems is a plus Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; must be physically agile Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds Strong verbal communication skills Education and Experience Associate degree (or higher) in electronics/electrical engineering with at least 8 years of related experience OR 10-15+ years equivalent field experience Prior electrician experience preferred Experience with single-phase, three-phase, and multi-module UPS systems required

$32.00 - $55.00 per hour
