Duties Help Applies engineering concepts and principles in the assessment of complex DoW weapons systems and facilities for the purposes of oversight reporting and recommendions. Demonstres and applies DoW Acquisition System knowledge and best practices engineering standards, and compliance, engineering, acquisition, and critical thinking skills to the assessment of complex DoW weapons systems and facilities. Participes, as part of a collaborive team, or leads technical evaluions or assessments to provide technical insight and perspective in written products and formal reports based on multiple engineering disciplines. Actively participes and contributes to the research, planning, and execution of evaluion projects, and preparion of written products to support the evaluion or assessment of complex DoW weapon systems or facilities oversight reporting. Develops high-quality written products, work papers, and reports essential to the oversight of weapons systems and facilities throughout the acquisition lifecycle using established standards, criteria, and multi-disciplined engineering practices. This nional security position, which may require access to classified informion, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Position has been designed as Special Critical Sensitive. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Informion. Qualificions Basic Requirements:
A.
Degree:
Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) stics, dynamics; (b) strength of merials (stress-strain relionships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nure and properties of merials (reling particle and aggrege structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, he transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR B. Combinion of educion and experience
  • college-level educion, training, and/or technical experience th furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mhemical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applicions to one of the branches of engineering.
The adequacy of such background must be demonstred by one of the following: Professional registrion or licensure
  • Current registrion as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any Ste, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registrion by means other than written test (e.g., Ste grandfher or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions th are within or closely reled to the specialty field of their registrion. For example, an applicant who tains registrion through a Ste Board's eminence provision as a manufacturing engineer typically would be red eligible only for manufacturing engineering positions.   • Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)2 examinion or any other written test required for professional registrion by an engineering licensure board in the various Stes, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. Specified academic courses
  • Successful completion of least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mhemical, and engineering sciences and th included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A. The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting the requirements of an engineering program as described in paragraph A. Reled curriculum
  • Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an approprie scientific field, e.
g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mhemics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions. (The above examples of reled curricula are not all-inclusive.)
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have least 52 weeks of specialized experience the GS-12 or equivalent level. Specialized experience is defined as experience in one or more STEM disciplines, such as: Cybersecurity, Electronic Warfare, Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environment Engineering, Computer Science, and Chemical Engineering. Experience supporting engineering and technical reviews, assessments, or evaluions of acquisition programs, weapon systems, supporting infrastructure, or other critical DoW systems. Ability to demonstre critical thinking in the analysis of collected da for oral and written presentions and reports. Demonstred writing proficiency through the use of highly effective and high-quality written products or reports with knowledge of and experience in engineering concepts, principles, techniques, and practices. Experienced in technical reviews providing input towards decision-making.
