Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer with strong electrical engineering expertise to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and drive the successful transition of electronic and electro-mechanical products from design into scalable production. This role bridges electrical design, manufacturing, and test engineering , ensuring PCBAs and electronic systems are fully manufacturable, testable, and production-ready. The ideal candidate has strong experience in PCBA interpretation, electrical test development, DFM/DFT, and production ramp-up support in electronics or high-reliability manufacturing environments. Key Responsibilities New Product Introduction (NPI) Support product transition from design to manufacturing with R&D, electrical engineering, and supply chain teams Participate in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFT (Design for Test) reviews Support prototype builds, pilot production, and full-scale manufacturing ramp-up Ensure manufacturability and testability of electronic and electro-mechanical systems Electrical Test & Manufacturing Engineering Develop and optimize PCBA assembly and electrical test processes Design and implement functional test systems, test fixtures, and automated test equipment (ATE) Support debugging, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for electrical failures Improve yield, reliability, test coverage, and production efficiency using lean principles Technical Data Package (TDP) Ownership Interpret schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and specifications Translate engineering documentation into production-ready instructions Ensure accuracy and completeness of all electrical manufacturing data Serve as technical support for PCBA and electrical documentation questions Supplier & Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with contract manufacturers and PCBA suppliers for qualification and support Support supplier onboarding and technical issue resolution Collaborate with quality, procurement, and design engineering teams Provide training and technical guidance on electrical assembly and testing Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering with strong electrical experience 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in electronics, PCBA, or electro-mechanical systems Strong experience supporting NPI from prototype through production ramp-up Ability to interpret schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, and BOMs Experience developing electrical test systems, fixtures, and instrumentation setups Hands-on familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators) Experience working with contract manufacturers and PCBA suppliers Proficiency with
ECAD/CAD
tools (Altium, OrCAD) and PDM/PLM systems (Autodesk Vault, SolidWorks PDM) Familiarity with ERP/PLM systems Preferred Skills Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-2221) Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) and test software (LabVIEW or similar) Hands-on electronics troubleshooting, soldering, and rework experience Understanding of EMI/EMC and compliance testing Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement certification Ideal Candidate Profile Strong background in electronics manufacturing, PCBA production, or electro-mechanical systems Experience in DFM/DFT implementation and manufacturing process optimization Proven ability to support product launches, test development, and production scale-up Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional engineering environments Experience in high-reliability industries (aerospace, defense, medical devices, industrial controls) is a plus
