Job Description
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Manager of Energy Systems and Optimization to lead the performance and modernization of building energy systems across a large and diverse facility portfolio. In this role, you will oversee the evaluation, standardization, and optimization of Energy Management Systems (EMS) across more than 350 facilities, many of which operate with aging or inconsistent infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a long-term roadmap to improve system performance, enhance energy efficiency, and drive cost savings. This includes collaborating closely with maintenance teams, capital construction, and energy management stakeholders to ensure consistent and reliable building operations. This position requires a proactive leader who can analyze system performance, identify optimization opportunities, and implement scalable solutions. By improving operational efficiency and generating energy savings, this role will play a key part in supporting reinvestment into EMS upgrades and advancing the district toward a fully integrated, districtwide building automation system.
Responsibilities:
Energy Systems Management Oversee Energy Management Systems (EMS) across all facilities. Manage vendor platforms (e.g., Trane, Delta Controls, Johnson Controls). Set standards for HVAC scheduling and system performance. Building Performance Optimization Monitor energy use and identify efficiency improvements. Implement strategies to reduce peak energy demand. Use analytics and AI tools to detect system issues. Operational Support Work with maintenance teams to resolve energy-related issues. Support indoor air quality initiatives (e.g., ventilation programs). Track energy performance using monitoring tools like EnergyCAP. Vendor & System Oversight Manage EMS vendors and service contracts. Coordinate system updates, expansions, and integrations. Ensure systems align with operational goals. Energy Strategy Support Support energy programs and sustainability initiatives. Assist with implementing energy improvement plans. Coordinate with capital projects for proper system integration. Help secure energy rebates from utility providers.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Management, or related field. Experience with EMS and building automation systems. Knowledge of HVAC systems and energy optimization. Familiarity with energy analytics or monitoring tools. Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.Preferred:
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar certification.Pay:
