Role:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Home Energy Assessment Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive home energy assessments to help homeowners identify energy efficiency improvements, reduce energy costs, and improve overall home comfort. If you are BPI certified, passionate about energy efficiency, and enjoy working directly with homeowners, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
Perform detailed home energy assessments including blower door tests, duct leakage testing, combustion safety testing, and visual inspections Evaluate insulation, HVAC systems, water heating, windows, doors, and air sealing Identify energy efficiency opportunities and provide homeowners with clear, actionable recommendations Accurately document assessment findings using field software and reporting tools Educate homeowners on available energy efficiency programs, rebates, and incentives Ensure all assessments meet program requirements and quality standards Maintain and calibrate diagnostic equipment Communicate professionally and effectively with homeowners throughout the assessment process
Requirements:
BPI (Building Performance Institute) Certification required; BPI Building Analyst preferred Prior experience conducting home energy assessments or energy audits Knowledge of building science principles, HVAC systems, and weatherization Strong attention to detail and the ability to document findings accurately Excellent communication and customer service skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to work in various conditions including attics, crawl spaces, and basements
Beneficial Qualifications:
HERS Rater certification is a plus
Compensation:
$22/hour
Pay:
From $22.00 per hour
