Job Title:
Solar Commissioning Supervisor-Level 2 Job Description Join our team as a Solar Commissioning Supervisor-Level 2, where you will play a pivotal role in the commissioning of utility-scale photovoltaic power systems. This position requires a deep understanding of solar energy systems and a commitment to overseeing the successful startup and testing of large PV installations. Responsibilities Prepare projects for PPA, GIA, and ISO testing. Manage test energy forecasts and AVR/AGC notifications with customers, control centers, and relevant external parties. Support
IT & SCADA
Teams with functional checks. Develop a commissioning schedule based on mechanical completion with SCADA Integrator and Execution Commissioning Project Manager. Verify
SCADA HMI
functionality and accuracy with SCADA Integrator and Commissioning Manager. Support CEWIS Critical Point Checkout with alarm checks/PGD. Review performance data for deficiencies. Conduct performance analytics of PV power plant systems, including inverters, trackers, substations, and control systems (SCADA). Coordinate energy forecasting during the startup of large PV systems. Act as the Owner's representative, overseeing PV system compliance, status reporting, startup, commissioning, and testing. Manage and report on commissioning work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site. Essential Skills Minimum of 5 years of professional experience involving utility solar power systems. Knowledge of utility-scale photovoltaic construction and commissioning. Familiarity with utility-scale photovoltaic components such as PV modules, combiners, inverters, transformers, met stations, and substations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office / 365. Effective communication skills with third parties and executives. Strong organizational and strategic planning abilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Engineering degree or equivalent experience. Professional or graduate-level academic experience in utility PV systems. Prior experience with SCADA systems of industrial plants/processes. 1-3 years of experience working with electrical grid participants such as Transmission Operators, Independent System Operators, and Balancing Authorities. Work Environment This position involves occasional travel within the United States to project locations, accounting for approximately 20% of the time. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders and offers the opportunity to work with one of the world's largest photovoltaic utility system developers. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Juno Beach, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
