Contact us at The California Energy Commission is seeking to hire one student assistant in the Reliability, Renewable Energy & Decarbonization Incentives (RREDI) Division within the CalSHAPE and BUILD unit. Conditions of Employment This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause. 08 per hour Minimum Qualifications Possess a cumulative 2.0 GPA or above. Experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel. Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Commission staff. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Preferred Qualifications Ability to use spreadsheet, database, and internet-based data management applications. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to manage multiple, often concurrent, priorities and objectives. Duties and Responsibilities Under close supervision of a program supervisor in the RREDI Division's California Schools Healthy Air, Plumbing and Efficiency Unit, the Student Assistant will assist technical staff with duties and perform various tasks in the fields of renewable energy, building decarbonization, indoor air quality and energy efficiency. Develop and administer grant and incentive programs. Technical documentation analysis. Data research and analysis. Engagement with stakeholders. Development and maintenance of reports used to inform decisions on utility and state renewable energy and distributed generation programs. Work directly with program staff to perform application completeness reviews and assist applicants with online submittal processes. Monitor the BUILD Outlook inbox, and assist periodically with the GIS online tool, special projects, data collection, evaluation and archival, report formatting and editing. Physical Requirements Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation. Working Conditions Work is performed in an remote environment. Students/Employees will be required to work according to the current UEI remote workplace policy and sign a UEI Work from Home Agreement. The decision to permit an employee to work from home is at the discretion of the supervisor or employer and may, at any time and with or without cause, unilaterally terminate the option to work from home.
