Energy Efficiency Specialist | Hybrid - Newark, NJ ? ???? Up to $77/hr | ???? Drive Impact Through Sustainable Energy Programs No sponsorship or C2C Are you passionate about energy efficiency, sustainability, and managing high-impact projects that make a real difference? We're seeking an experienced Energy Efficiency Specialist to oversee multifamily energy efficiency programs supporting large-scale conservation initiatives across New Jersey. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on meaningful projects involving HVAC, lighting, motors, energy management systems, and other energy conservation measures (ECMs) while collaborating with vendors, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders in a highly visible role. ????
Location:
Hybrid - Newark, NJ ???? Currently 3 days onsite per week ???????? 12 month contract with a likely extension ????
Compensation:
Up to $77/hr depending on experience ????
What You'll Do:
  • Lead multifamily energy efficiency projects from scope through completion
  • Manage schedules, budgets, forecasting, QA/QC, and vendor performance
  • Ensure compliance with BPU-approved program requirements
  • Analyze project performance data and provide management reporting
  • Conduct project site visits and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Oversee contractor coordination, invoicing, and safety compliance
  • Support impactful sustainability initiatives throughout NJ ?

What We're Looking For:
?? 5+ years of experience in energy efficiency programs, construction, or related fields ?? Strong understanding of energy conservation measures and incentive structures ?? Experience with milestone-based construction payments and financial forecasting ?? Vendor management and invoicing expertise ?? Excellent communication and organizational skills ?? Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word ?? Knowledge of NJ energy efficiency frameworks and cost-effectiveness standards preferred ?? Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required ????
