Job Description

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Environmental or Energy Engineer with a strong background in building energy modeling and mechanical systems analysis. This individual will support multiple projects by analyzing energy consumption across facilities, identifying optimization opportunities, and delivering actionable recommendations to improve system efficiency. This is a highly analytical role focused on using simulation tools and real-world data to drive energy performance improvements across industrial and commercial environments. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain building energy models for various facility types
  • Analyze actual energy consumption data and compare it against modeled performance
  • Identify inefficiencies and high energy-use systems within buildings
  • Propose and validate energy optimization strategies
  • Evaluate HVAC and mechanical systems performance, including controls and operations
  • Diagnose potential issues in building controls or system design impacting energy efficiency
  • Provide clear, actionable recommendations for facility teams to implement improvements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, facilities, operations) on energy strategy
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for energy reduction and sustainability goals Pay range for this role is $58

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
  • Strong experience with energy modeling Hands-on experience with: EnergyPlus, OpenStudio or IES (Integrated Environmental Solutions) TRACE / Trane Trace software
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems design (HVAC, large building systems)
  • Ability to interpret and analyze real-world energy consumption data
  • Experience exporting/working with building geometry from Revit (or similar BIM tools)
  • Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or industrial environments (e.g., cell manufacturing, clean rooms, dry rooms)
  • Background in commercial office building design or operations
  • Exposure to large-scale energy infrastructure or campus environments
  • Familiarity with sustainability initiatives or energy efficiency programs
