Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct analyses and provide technical advice on power grid resilience, flexibility, and emerging grid technologies. Provide expert review and technical guidance on GRIP program applications, proposals, and project implementations, ensuring alignment with program objectives and best practices in grid modernization. Collaborate with internal Department of Energy (DOE) teams, external stakeholders, utilities, research institutions, and industry partners to identify critical grid vulnerabilities and develop innovative solutions. Conduct technical review of GRIP projects, understand and interpret outcomes of power flow simulations, and assess the effectiveness of various grid resilience and modernization strategies within the GRIP Portfolio including Technical Assistance projects funded through GRIP, including 3 or more of the following areas: various firm generation sources, smart grid technology, energy storage, and advanced transmission solutions. Contribute to the development of program guidance, technical specifications, and evaluation criteria for GRIP funding opportunities. Contribute to the development of program guidance, technical specifications, and evaluation criteria for GRIP Technical Assistance projects and related funded outreach. Attend conferences, technical meetings, and workshops, sharing expertise and fostering collaboration.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in power grid operations, planning, analysis, or resilience - additional years of experience or post-graduate degrees may be substituted for education or experience requirements. Must have knowledge of and experience in federal and local environmental laws and regulations, as demonstrated through work performed in a previous role. Project management experience.Other Qualifications:

These include, but are not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and competencies that align with the specific role, geographic location, educational background, and contract provisions related to labor categories specific to the position. We are committed to offering a competitive compensation package that reflects the value and expertise that each candidate brings to our team.
