Description:
You will be the Stability & Controls Engineer
  • Level 3 for the Flight Sciences group which is responsible for advancing aeronautics performance and stability solutions.
  • What You Will Be Doing
  • As the Stability & Controls Engineer
  • Level 3 you will be responsible for delivering high-impact performance, stability and controls engineering support across Air Mobility & Maritime Missions and Advanced Development Programs. "Your responsibilities will include:"
  • Develop and maintain aerodynamic databases to inform aircraft design decisions.
  • Perform static stability assessments and define control power requirements.
  • Create mission profiles and construct flight envelopes for new and modified aircraft concepts.
  • Support wind-tunnel testing and flight-test campaigns, providing technical analysis and reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, producing clear technical documentation and communicating results to customers and program leadership.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Engineering Degree (Aerospace)
  • 2-5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Hands on experience with aircraft aerodynamics, and stability and controls.
  • Proficient in at least one coding language (MATLAB, VBA, Python)
Microsoft Office Skills Desired Skills:
  • Masters or Ph.D. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with running aerodynamics / performance / S&C analyses to inform aircraft design cycles
  • Willing and able to support extended and off shift work schedules
  • Willing to travel to support off-site testing (flight test, wind tunnel)
  • Ability to effectively document and accurately convey technical data
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills to interface with multifunctional teams

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
