What is the role? Michaels Energy is seeking an engineer to deliver technical support for utility energy efficiency programs in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and support measurement and verification work in New York and Connecticut. This position will perform energy assessments and detailed retro-commissioning studies on commercial and industrial buildings. Technical tasks include identifying energy efficiency measures, performing energy engineering calculations and simulations of equipment, estimating project costs, writing technical reports and collecting energy usage data using logging equipment. Work may also include new construction design consulting for energy efficiency, energy modeling, review of facility decarbonization plans, site visits to assess decarbonization feasibility, and third-party review of calculations. Client and customer communication is also critical in this role. Types of communication include onsite and virtual meetings, presentations, and non-technical and technical writing. We are looking for an engineer who is passionate about energy efficiency and removing barriers for the customer that will result in the implementation of projects. After 3 months, you have Learned company processes and procedures Completed at least two energy audits independently Completed at least three M&V site visits independently After 6 months, you have Fully trained on at least three energy efficiency programs Led customer meetings and project report outs Completed 10 energy audits independently Reviewed two facility decarbonization plans What are the metrics for this role? Utilization Project budget What are we looking for? Four-year degree, preferably in electrical , mechanical, chemical, or building systems engineering Three to seven years of experience combining any of the following: Energy efficiency industry

g., utilities or performance contracting HVAC operations, controls, and/or building energy investigations Utility program experience in retro-commissioning, ASHRAE level 2 energy audits, or custom rebate calculations Managing building retrofit projects Implementing controls upgrades Commissioning HVAC retrofits HVAC Design or Electrical Design as part of a Design/Build or A&E Firm Energy modeling using Open Studio or eQuest PE or EIT is preferred but not required Excels at communicating complicated ideas to a variety of audiences Skilled at interfacing with contractors and building owners Deep interest in energy, systems, and process efficiency, and improving productivity Lifetime self-learner Ability to travel up to 30% regionally (upstate
