The Energy Engineer is responsible for identifying and implementing technical solutions that help clients advance their sustainable energy goals. This role also ensures that Eneration remains informed on the latest technologies, strategies, and trends in the energy sustainability field. Energy Engineer:
Lead client energy audits and retro-commissioning activities. Ensure compliance with healthcare codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, Joint Commission, CMS, state/local energy codes). Develop project justifications, ROI analyses, and life-cycle cost assessments to support capital planning and funding approval. Analyze utility data and Building Automation System (BAS) trends to detect inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions. Primary champion for Eneration's proprietary energy analysis tool. Represent the organization at national committees and organizations. Work collaboratively to develop new products and improve existing products to ensure outstanding client success. Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the CEO and executive team. Provides technical information and support as needed to secure sales. Develop strategic partnerships with national organizations. Keep up to date on new sustainable energy technologies and strategies and assess the success of implementation in health care facilities. Performs other duties as assigned by the CEO.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Understanding of hospitals HVAC, electrical systems, and codes Experience with Building Automation Systems Experience with facility retro-commissioning and/or new building commissioning Proven experience with developing and utilization of tools to support facility energy analysis Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Proven ability to meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Positive attitude and passion for results in the face of challenges Continuous improvement philosophy
Required Education, Experience, and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related field from an accredited university. 2+ years of experience with HVAC systems, electrical, and energy management systems, preferably with healthcare facilities. Certification as an Energy Manager, or a comparable credential, to be obtained within nine months of the start date. Desired Experience, Education, and Certifications 4+ years of experience with systems and energy analysis in healthcare facilities. Lean/Six Sigma certification BAS programming experience
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid position with the ability to work offsite at times but expected to be in the office on a routine basis. Candidates should expect to travel around three times a month. This role includes visits to hospitals and clinics and requires compliance with all health system contractor requirements.
