FlightStream is designed to operate in the time-domain mode for all the traditional external aerodynamic CFD simulations. Frequency-domain panel methods allow for additional applications otherwise difficult to do with time-domain solvers. Specifically, in the realm of flight-control systems, structural-coupling and aeroacoustics. This intern will work closely with the FlightStream development team to collate academic state-of-the-art research in the field of frequency-domain low-order panel-method and vortex-lattice solvers; develop prototype code; and validate the results of the prototype capabilities against canonical and experimental datasets.
