Prototype creation Prototypes Full Job Description Thermofluids Engineer $140,000 - $180,000 + Relocation Support + Medical, Dental, Vision + PTO + 401k + Excellent Benefits Austin, TX (On-site) Are you a Thermofluids Engineer who enjoys solving real-world engineering problems and applying strong fundamentals to the design of complex systems? This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, well-funded U.S. start-up where your work will directly contribute to the development of next-generation nuclear technology. The company is scaling rapidly with a mission to transform how nuclear energy systems are designed and delivered. They offer a hands-on, collaborative environment where strong engineering thinking and practical problem-solving are valued over process-heavy or purely theoretical approaches. You'll be part of a highly technical team where engineers are given ownership, autonomy, and the chance to see their work move from concept through to testing and deployment. This role is best suited to a Thermofluids Engineer with strong fundamentals in heat transfer and fluid mechanics, who is confident performing detailed hand calculations and enjoys applying engineering principles to real hardware challenges.

The Role:

Lead thermal-fluid design, modelling, and system-level analysis Perform detailed hand calculations and first-principles engineering analysis Support prototype development, testing, and rapid design iterations Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across design and build phases

The Person:

Thermofluids / Heat Transfer / Fluid Mechanics background Confident with hand calculations and first-principles engineering CFD experience (ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM etc.) beneficial but not essential Practical, hands-on engineering mindset with a focus on real-world application Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-accountability start-up environment U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder required
