Job Description

Job Description On Energy Storage is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to support the construction and commissioning of a utility-scale BESS project in Amarillo, TX. This is a full-time, on-site role embedded within the project team. The Field Engineer will serve as the primary technical resource for the EPC contractor and commissioning teams, providing real-time electrical and mechanical guidance, resolving field issues, and ensuring that installation activities align with On Energy Storage's engineering standards, design documents, and applicable codes. The ideal candidate brings a strong electrical engineering background with hands-on experience supporting field construction and commissioning activities on power systems or energy storage projects.
  • Serve as the on-site technical point of contact for the EPC contractor.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and support field installation teams.
  • Review and resolve RFIs with the engineering team.
  • Monitor installation for compliance with design and codes.
  • Identify and resolve field discrepancies.
  • Document and share lessons learned on equipment being installed.
  • Support FAT and SAT activities.
  • Maintain field reports and documentation.
  • Coordinate with engineering and EPC teams.
  • Participate in meetings and safety reviews.
  • Verify equipment installation compliance.
  • Support punch list and project closeout.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of
NEC, IEEE, NFPA.
  • Troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Procore.
  • Ability to work on-site in Amarillo, TX.
