About this Role Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an experienced and strategic Engineering Department Manager to oversee a team of engineering design professionals, interns, and co-op staff supporting complex EPC and infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for ensuring deliverables are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. The Department Manager will provide administrative leadership, workforce planning, training oversight, and operational management while partnering closely with leadership teams to drive departmental success and continuous improvement initiatives. What You'll Do Collaborate with company leadership to establish departmental goals, priorities, and strategic initiatives Manage staffing, workload balancing, and resource allocation across projects and operational tasks Lead, mentor, coach, and develop team members to achieve performance objectives and career growth Develop and implement training programs to strengthen technical, operational, and leadership capabilities within the department Conduct regular employee performance reviews using established KPIs and operational metrics Monitor and evaluate: On-time completion of tasks and projects Budget adherence and resource utilization Quality and accuracy of deliverables Team collaboration and communication effectiveness Compliance with safety policies and company standards Employee development and training participation Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies to enhance team performance and project execution Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and integrity throughout the department Evaluate schedules and manpower requirements while proactively adjusting workloads and staffing needs Review and approve departmental deliverables, reports, and documentation Ensure department activities meet company procedures, client requirements, and project expectations Communicate scope, schedule, and resource changes in a timely manner Plan and organize team collaboration initiatives, mentoring efforts, and training programs Track and report department performance metrics related to budget, schedule, quality, staffing, and productivity Support procurement activities and administrative processes as needed Participate in ongoing professional development planning and organizational growth initiatives Employee may be required to visit job sites, field offices, and customer locations What You'll Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls, Process Engineering, or related field) Minimum 10 years of experience supervising and managing large office-based teams, including staffing, scheduling, performance evaluations, training programs, and operational oversight Proven ability to lead diverse teams, maintain high productivity standards, and foster a collaborative work environment Strong knowledge of business operations, scheduling, workforce planning, and resource management Ability to interpret organizational goals and implement best practices to support operational success Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills Strong strategic planning, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities Ability to manage multiple priorities independently within fast-paced environments Excellent written communication and documentation skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments and leadership teams Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting EPC, engineering, construction, utility, industrial, or infrastructure environments Familiarity with project controls, budgeting, forecasting, and operational performance metrics Experience leading continuous improvement and organizational development initiatives Background supporting multidisciplinary engineering or technical teams What You'll Get Competitive Compensation Weekly Pay 401(k) Retirement Plan Holiday Pay Paid Time Off (PTO) Comprehensive Health Coverage Pet Insurance Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Professional Development Opportunities Tuition Assistance Employee Discount Program Equal Opportunity Employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
