Job Description:
Quality Manager - Tucson, AZ The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining the plant Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015), overseeing team of six, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance through audits, corrective actions, and customer quality support. This role partners closely with operations and leadership to improve plant quality performance, customer satisfaction, and process control. Key Responsibilities Lead and maintain the site Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with
ISO 9001
2015 standards. Manage Quality Engineering and Inspection departments, including coaching, development, and performance management. Oversee customer, third-party, and internal quality audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Track and report key quality metrics and drive projects focused on reducing defects and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ). Lead root cause investigations, customer complaint resolution, 8D responses, and non-conformance management. Support process control, batch documentation, document control, and change management activities. Partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, customer service, and engineering on customer requirements, contract reviews, and new product introductions. Ensure compliance with applicable industry and government regulations including FAR/DFARS and ITAR requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Ceramics, or related technical field. 7+ years of quality engineering experience with at least 3 years in leadership/management. Strong knowledge of
ISO 9001
2015 and experience leading QMS audits; Lead Auditor certification preferred. Experience with PPAP, FMEA, Process Control Plans, inspection planning, and corrective action systems. Lean/Six Sigma experience or certification preferred. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and change management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP experience is a plus.
