This leadership role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, strategic planning, project execution, and team development. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in capital equipment manufacturing, industrial automation, and engineering leadership within a highly technical manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage Mechanical and Electrical Engineering departments Develop and implement engineering strategies, technical standards, and continuous improvement initiatives Partner with Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Customers to support new business opportunities and product innovation Oversee equipment design, system integration, automation architecture, and engineering execution Ensure designs comply with engineering principles, customer specifications, and applicable industrial standards Drive innovation in product engineering, manufacturing processes, and automation technologies Support customer technical reviews, presentations, and engineering discussions Manage engineering resources, schedules, budgets, and departmental performance Improve manufacturing efficiency, quality metrics, and cost reduction initiatives Provide executive-level reporting related to engineering operations, project risks, and cost controls Mentor and develop engineering staff while promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required 7-10 years of experience in industrial machinery or capital equipment design and manufacturing Prior experience working for a manufacturer or builder of custom capital equipment is required 3-5 years of engineering leadership or management experience Strong understanding of industrial automation and controls systems Experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and industrial electrical equipment Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC platforms (RSLogix 500/5000), Wonderware/Intouch, and HC900 systems Working knowledge of CAD software and Microsoft Office applications Strong problem-solving, leadership, communication, and organizational skills Mechanical engineering knowledge or cross-functional engineering experience preferred Preferred Experience Experience in one or more of the following industries is highly desirable: Aerospace Thermal processing / heat treatment Vacuum furnace systems Industrial automation Advanced manufacturing Additive manufacturing Precision manufacturing Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary Performance incentives and profit sharing Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance 401(k) with company match Life insurance Paid time off and holidays Relocation assistance available on a limited basis Additional Information This is a confidential search being conducted on behalf of an established industrial manufacturing organization.
