Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team and drive the design, development, and execution of complex finishing systems. This role is responsible for overseeing all engineering functions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with customer requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, leadership experience, and the ability to work closely with operations, sales, and installation teams. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the engineering team across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines Oversee system design for washers, ovens, conveyors, and coating systems Review and approve drawings, calculations, and technical specifications Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements Support sales with system concepts, proposals, and technical presentations Coordinate with fabrication, controls, and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution Develop and improve engineering processes, standards, and documentation Manage project timelines, engineering schedules, and resource allocation Interface with customers, vendors, and third-party engineers as needed Drive continuous improvement in system performance, cost efficiency, and design quality Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (PE preferred but not required) 8-12+ years of experience in industrial systems design or manufacturing engineering Experience with finishing systems, material handling, or similar industrial equipment strongly preferred Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams Strong understanding of mechanical systems, airflow, thermal processes, and system integration Experience with CAD platforms such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and problem-solving skills
