Job Description

What to Expect We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to manage reliability modeling and test programs. Responsibilities include connecting all stakeholders, managing priorities/expectations, and feeding back test results and concerns to create compelling and reliable Energy Products. You will use your engineering background to understand the product requirements, technical risks, and the validation strategy to minimize new product risks while accelerating the development process. You will communicate and present project status, highlight schedule risk, and develop recovery plans in the event of a project slip. The Energy & Charging Reliability team is a cross-functional, program and systems organization. It encompasses Power Electronics, Battery, and Thermal/Mechanical systems verification and validation through characterization and accelerated life testing of Tesla's Energy products. What You'll Do Own the scope, schedule, implementation and tracking of design reliability validation test projects and results from start to finish Set goals, track deliverables, manage expectations, identify risk, and drive mitigations across all stages of the project Create, maintain, communicate, and present schedules for reliability engineering projects to the engineering leadership team Identify creative ways to overcome obstacles and meet the schedule despite setbacks Spearhead design reliability risk burndown by programmatically managing Design FMEAs Assist with the prioritization of the engineering team project work based on risk, resources, and payback Work with Design Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Service Engineering, Supply Chain, and the engineering leadership team to gather new requirements scope and timelines and escalate issues to ensure prompt resolution Aid in driving conversations and issues to closure, defining next steps, and ensuring follow-ups are owned Influence without reporting structure and operate with a high degree of autonomy Maximize productivity in a constantly changing environment and shifting priorities What You'll Bring Degree in Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience 3-5 years of experience in an engineering environment with responsibility for implementing or managing change Demonstrated experience in the management of engineering projects for mass-produced products required Demonstrated understanding of product design cycle Demonstrated experience creating, maintaining, and communicating schedules Demonstrated understanding of product release cycle as it relates to product reliability and risk management Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain personnel

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
