Eldorado National (California), Inc. in Riverside, CA is seeking an Engineer II to carry out engineering tasks related to the planning and design of tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical systems. Supervise the installation, operation, upkeep, and repair of equipment, including centralized heating, gas, water, and steam systems.

Job responsibilities and duties include:

Support the design, development, implementation, and analysis of structural assemblies, subassemblies, and components related to the vehicle frame for heavy duty vehicles (i.e. transit buses). Use CAD (Computer Aided Design) software to aid in the development of the design of structural subassemblies, to model 3D designs, and to produce detailed 2D engineering drawings. Responsible for fulfilling customer requirements (i.e., work orders) considering design specifications and applications. Execute engineering changes through established ECN (engineering change notice) processes and documentation. Lead the creation and review of material part specifications and BOM's (bills of materials). Deliver complete engineering packages emphasizing efficiency in the manufacturing process. Gain understanding of manufacturing processes with emphasis on metal fabrication and assemblies. Support the verification of designs through the use of FEA (finite element analysis). Own moderate scale structural design projects and reviews. Develop understanding of standards adhered to in the transit industry and applicable to bus structures (i.e.

FMVSS & APTA

White Book). Identify problems, root causes and be able to define & execute resolutions. Gain understanding and use lean principles as they apply to manufacturing and business processes.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or any related field of study, plus at least two (2) years of post-degree, progressively responsible experience in any related position(s). Qualified applicants must also have demonstrable proficiency, skill, experience, and knowledge with the following: Computer Simulation Cost Estimation Design Optimization Design Review Engineering Analysis and Design Feasibility Study Modeling Prototyping Quality Assurance Process and Reliability Analysis Manufacturing industry and vocational standards CAD CAE Statistical Techniques and Data Analysis Microsoft Office Read and understand engineering drawings and layouts No work from home (WFH) benefit available.
