Position Description You will serve as a
GENERAL ENGINEER
in the Fleet Support Team (FST) of
FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Position Duties/Responsibilities You will serve as F/A-18A-F and EA-18G Fleet Support Team (FST) Leader at the FRCSW, heading a large and diverse team of engineers, scientists, technicians, logisticians, and Business Financial Managers. You will serve as final authority on planning, review, and evaluation of work and be fully responsible and accountable for the execution, and effectiveness, of the in-service support program. You will direct trade studies and continuous process improvement initiatives to identify and evaluate alternative technical approaches and assess process efficiencies to resolve issues. You will develop program planning objectives and management strategies for current and long-range (5 to 10 year) program tasks. You will evaluate the impact of fluctuations in resource levels such as budget changes, and updates to estimates of resource requirements due to new or revised objectives, technical capabilities, acquisition strategies, etc. You will direct the development of contract engineering specifications, which define support requirements and parameters, and direct the development of Procurement Requests, Request for Proposals, etc. You will measure progress toward, and determine the soundness of objectives in established projects and define needs and develop objectives and resource requirements for new projects.
