Job Description
DescriptionAmazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon Leo will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
Basic Qualifications
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Silicon NPI (New Product Introduction) leads the transition of complex semiconductor products from design to high-volume manufacturing (HVM). Responsibilities include driving cross-functional strategies for engineering validation, manufacturing yield, supply chain readiness, and cost optimization, ensuring on-time delivery of samples and production ramps. Key job responsibilitiesStrategic Leadership:
Develop and own the end-to-end silicon NPI strategy, aligning with Product Management, Engineering, and Operations teams to meet product lifecycle milestones (EVT, DVT, PVT)Manufacturing & Yield:
Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) requirements. Optimize wafer fabrication, assembly, and test processes to maximize yield and reduce costs, including in advanced packaging.Supply Chain & Ops Readiness:
Oversee vendor management, contract manufacturer (CM) strategy, and material procurement to ensure capacity and timely engineering build schedules.Program Execution:
Lead cross-functional teams to resolve technical and supply constraints during the NPI phase, ensuring a seamless transfer to mass productionQuality & Reliability:
Guarantee that products meet quality standards and reliability specifications before product release in conjunction with the Quality team.Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of management experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, material engineering, mechanical engineering or related fields
- 12-15+ years in semiconductor operations, NPI, or product engineering, with a proven track record in high-volume silicon manufacturing
- Deep understanding of silicon wafer fab, 3D packaging, or complex ASIC development
- Experience leading large, diverse, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Qualifications
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
