Opens a new window. HGA is seeking aDesign/Staking Department Managerto support operations inBrighton, CO. The Design/Staking Department Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and growing the Design and Field Staking teams that support client engineering, construction, and field operations. This role oversees project planning, design quality, field staking accuracy, workflow optimization, team development, and client communication. The Manager ensures all design packages, construction drawings, field staking layouts, and as builts meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and project deadlines. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Design and Staking teams, including staffing, training, and performance oversight. Oversee creation, review, and approval of design packages, construction drawings, and staking documents. Coordinate field staking activities, ensuring accurate layouts, reports, and as built data. Collaborate with client engineering, field operations, and project management to resolve design issues and support project timelines. Maintain and improve department standards, workflows, templates, and quality control processes. Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and client communication to ensure accurate and timely deliverables. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients. Support continuous process improvement, technology upgrades, and performance tracking. Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in electrical distribution design, staking, land development, surveying, utilities, telecom, or similar fields. 2+ years of supervisory or management experience or equivalent leadership role. Strong understanding of construction drawings, design principles, field staking practices, and project sequencing. Proficiency with GIS, staking software, or industry specific design platforms. Experience with surveying equipment and GPS. Experience with National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), Rural Utility Service (RUS) standards, and overhead/underground distribution system standards. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to interpret technical drawings, maps, P&IDs, plats, and field data. Valid drivers license and ability to visit project sites as needed. Preferred Qualifications Experience in utilities (electric, gas, telecom), civil engineering, or land surveying. Experience working with joint use, easements, ROW, or permitting. Experience with PLS-CADD and O-Calc power line design software. Experience with Box and Trimble workflow management systems. Knowledge of Colorado local regulations, utility codes, or county permitting requirements. Bachelors or associate degree in a technical field. Professional certifications (e.g., EIT, PE, SIT, PLS, PMP, Lineman) are a plus. Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
