About the Role Perform Project Management functions over various midstream oil and gas projects. Functions include developing and tracking project cost estimates, developing, and tracking project schedules, acting as the main point of contact for Kahuna clients, overseeing the engineering and design team to ensure project deliverables are completed on schedule and in accordance with sound engineering judgement, oversight of all project communications including during construction, and developing project reports as requested. Projects include but are not limited to: natural gas gathering pipelines, natural gas compressor stations, natural gas treating, dehydration, NGL recovery, fractionation, liquids handling, liquids storage, measurement, renewable natural gas processing, and site utilities. This position will report to the Vice President of Project Execution. What You'll Do Provides status project updates to the VP of Project Execution. Acts as the main contact between Kahuna and the client on the project. Tracks project metrics (schedule and costs) to report to client throughout the project. Prioritizes execution and tracks completion of project deliverables. Develop block flow diagrams and determine necessary equipment required to fulfill project goals. Communicates with the client on a regular basis to ensure a clear understanding of current project status, critical path items, changes in scope, and cost and schedule impacts. Provides direction to project team staff on priorities and ensures timely decisions to meet the project schedule. Organizes and manages project documents effectively. Prioritizes execution and tracks completion of project deliverables. Develop project tools to identify project strategy and direction. Develop project labor specifications for bidding purposes, ability to host bid specification meetings with client and contractor, ability to evaluate contractor bids and provide recommendations to the client. Works with contractors to make sure they understand expected scope and are meeting the project schedule. Work closely with Kahuna onsite field staff, as applicable, to solve construction problems, provide updates on procured equipment and materials, and track contractor progress. Verifies procured items are on track and fits within the project schedule. Prepare project purchasing strategy document and maintains ongoing support. Helps developing project economics for various project options. Develop project tools to identify project strategy and direction. Ongoing communication with Peers/Client/Vendors as needed to effectively complete the project. Other duties as assigned. What You'll Bring Bachelor's or Advanced degree in an engineering discipline (chemical or mechanical preferred). 5 to 10 years of experience in a Project Manager role or equivalent relevant experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry. Strong work ethic and willing to travel to field/project locations. Excellent communication and organizational skills as well as attention to detail. Initiative-taking and able to quickly react to changing priorities and deadlines. Ability to direct and manage engineering and design team members. Excellent technical writing skills. Experience with all the MS Office programs including some experience with MS Project.
