York's complete Space Segment Solution includes spacecraft production, payload integration, system integration & test, launch services, ground segment services, and mission operations, enabling customers to leverage York's existing technology solutions to get to orbit rapidly and responsively. We're looking to expand our team across the board. York is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineering Manager to lead development of spacecraft electrical subsystems, including Command & Data Handling (C&DH) and Electrical Power Systems (EPS). The team is responsible for system-level design, analysis, integration, testing, and operational support of spacecraft electrical systems, including both internally developed and vendor-provided hardware. This is a systems engineering and leadership role focused on architecture, integration, and verification, not detailed circuit design. Set technical direction, priorities, and performance expectations for the team. Conduct performance reviews and support career development. Allocate resources and ensure alignment with program schedules and mission objectives. Act as the primary technical interface between the team, program leadership, and other engineering groups. Systems Engineering & Architecture Decompose mission objectives into electrical subsystem requirements and specifications. Define system architectures for spacecraft electrical subsystems including power distribution and computing avionics. Establish performance metrics for electrical systems such as timing, data throughput, power budgets, and interface compatibility. Develop specifications for electrical interfaces and communication buses (e.g., LVDS, RS-422, Ethernet, SPI, I2C). Integration, Verification, and Operations Oversee development of test plans and procedures for subsystem verification and validation, including HIL and SIL testing. Support spacecraft integration activities and troubleshoot issues during assembly and test. Identify technical risks and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented. Support anomaly investigation and resolution during spacecraft operations. Program Execution Represent the electrical systems team in program reviews, customer interactions, and risk reviews. Coordinate with supply chain and program management to ensure components and assemblies meet program needs. Experience with spacecraft power system architecture, power budgeting, battery sizing, and solar array sizing. Knowledge of spacecraft data handling architectures and high-speed digital interfaces. Experience with spacecraft integration and system-level verification (HIL, SIL, automated testing). Familiarity with signal integrity considerations including jitter, skew, crosstalk, and timing synchronization. Understanding of space environmental effects on electronics and mitigation strategies. Experience with EMI/EMC design and testing. Familiarity with spacecraft subsystem integration and mission lifecycle from concept through operations. Experience with laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and DMMs. Benefits 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance (subject to spousal surcharge).
