Joining Technologies Position Summary:
The Engineering Manager is responsible for expanding sales growth through leading all engineering and process development activities, driving successful execution of customer programs from concept through production, and ensuring alignment with company strategy, quality standards, and financial objectives.
This role provides leadership to engineering personnel while collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Quality, Operations, and executive leadership to deliver technically sound, economically viable solutions that meet customer and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop engineering staff, fostering a high-performance, team-oriented culture Plan, assign, and monitor engineering workload to ensure deadlines and objectives are met Conduct annual and periodic performance reviews, including 360° feedback Promote core values, accountability, and continuous improvement initiatives Project & Process Development Manage development projects from R&D through qualification and production release Oversee process development, documentation, and validation in accordance with specifications and quality standards Ensure accurate scheduling and execution of engineering activities using ERP systems and supporting tools Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, efficiency, and technical capability Customer & Business Integration Collaborate with customers to define technical requirements and ensure satisfaction throughout project execution Support Sales with quoting, including cycle time analysis, tooling, NRE, and process feasibility Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and strategic partners Contribute to strategic decisions involving new technologies, equipment, and market opportunities Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Finance to ensure successful project outcomes Support production readiness and smooth transition from development to manufacturing Ensure alignment with Quality Management System (QMS) and certification requirements Technical Oversight Maintain expertise in welding processes, metallurgy, and advanced manufacturing technologies Oversee engineering documentation, standards, and compliance requirements Guide problem-solving and technical decision-making using sound engineering principles Qualifications Education & Experience •
Required:
Bachelor's degree in engineering Advanced degree (MS or MBA) preferred Minimum 5+ years engineering experience with leadership responsibility Experience in process development and manufacturing technologies (welding technologies preferred) Skills & Competencies Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities Proficiency with ERP systems, engineering software, and data analysis tools Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and regulated manufacturing environments Working Conditions Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment May require travel to customer or supplier locations Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed to meet business demands Exposure to manufacturing conditions including noise, heat, and production equipment Position Overview This is a salaried leadership position reporting directly to senior management, with responsibility for both strategic direction and day-to-day execution of engineering and process development functions.
