Job Description

Thisrolerequires an individual to work independently under limitedsupervision, andoccasionally offer guidance on strategic orhighly complexissues. Responsibilities Support project delivery byplanning, design, and creation ofcivil engineeringplans, specifications, and reports. Support maintenance ofBC's project management delivery requirements, which include the following: Project management plan Quality management plan BIM execution plan Risk Register Design decision log Change management log Verify compliance and resolveapparentconflictswithrelevant codes, laws, and permits to ensure regulatoryadherencein all tasks performed. Supervise site investigation toidentifyexisting conditions, requirements for demolition,constructionphasingprocesses, andutility coordination. Supervise Subsurface Utility Engineering efforts. Conductqualitycontrol ofdesktop reviewsprepared for the project. Supervise geotechnicaland survey subconsultants effortsan incorporationof the informationinto the design. Reviewof geotechnical and surveyconsultant'sdeliverables for compliancewiththe scopeandidentificationof anyout of scopeefforts needed to meet industrystandardof care for the design. Conduct quality control ofdesign documentation to verifyappropriate incorporationof historic record drawing data. Quality control review of existing conditions base mapping. Supervise and provide quality controlof theconsolidatedcivil design into a coherent and cohesive set ofcontract documents and deliverables. Leadconstruction phase services, including the following: Request for Information (RFI) responses Submittal reviews Change order directives Supervisethe generation ofcost estimations. Support the maintenance and communication ofproject schedules for design and construction. Provide guidance and training to less experienced colleagues within the team. Work with project leadershipto provide level of effort andscheduleestimatesforcivil-specific elements of water/wastewater utility infrastructure projects. Flexibility to adapt and execute variousadditionalassignments based on evolving needs. Mentorship May provide mentorship, guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing to help less experienced team members develop their skills and grow within their roles. Skillsand Competencies Ability to direct and organize civil teams to complete multiple tasks. Ability toeffectivelymanage team communications. Advancedcompetency in civil engineering skills and theories. Proven ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and solve moderately complex problems. Proficient knowledge of regulatory expectations and experience with site investigations and project planning. Experience Typically, a minimumof 5years ofworkexperience in civil engineeringor relatedfield. Has achieved or is working towards achievingprofessionallicense. Past experiencein dealing with projects and providing guidance to less experienced colleagues is crucial. Typically certified in the SMS Framework, and progressing through the SMS competencies. Education A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field, or equivalent experience isrequired. Preferred Skills and Experience Typically 10-15+ years of progressive experience delivering trenchless and underground utility infrastructure projects (planning through construction). Hands-on experience with one or more trenchless delivery methods (e.g., microtunneling, HDD, jack-and-bore, or tunneling), including support of design and construction-phase services. Working knowledge of geotechnical principles for trenchless and underground construction, including soil/rock behavior, groundwater conditions, ground improvement, and excavation/support systems. Familiarity with various project delivery methods, including progressive design-build, design-build, design-build, and construction manager/general contractor (CMGC)
Salary Range:
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.Location A:

$104,000•$142,000Location C:
