Provides overall management direction to multiple projects, establishes project objectives and policies, maintains liaison with prime client contracts, and monitors construction and financial activities through administrative direction of on-site construction manager.
Project Manager Job Qualifications Education & Experience:
3-7 years of hands-on experience in project management, specifically in electrical construction, with a focus on healthcare projects. 5-10 years field experience as a tradesman is preferred. A solid track record of reliability and long-term commitment in previous roles.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and team-building abilities. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Proficiency in project management tools like MS Project and Primavera. Ability to efficiently manage budgets, schedules, and resources. Experience in preparing a detailed Schedule of Values and accurately processing Monthly Pay Applications. Skill in projecting and maintaining a project billing schedule. Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) to track job progress, cost performance, and schedule impacts. Advanced knowledge of Estimating Systems for Change Order preparation. Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word Processing, and email management.
Responsibilities:
Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Develop, update, and track project plans to align with timelines, budgets, and strategic goals. Monitor project progress and provide status updates to the executive team. Identify and resolve project risks and challenges. Ensure projects meet quality control standards and code requirements. Establish the project team's structure, roles, and responsibilities. Evaluate and manage sub-contractor scope of work. Negotiate contracts and oversee vendor relationships.
Additional Requirements:
Schedule and lead key project meetings (Start-up, Progress, and Post-project). Maintain strong, professional relationships with Owners, General Contractors, Engineers, and Architects. Collaborate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers. Thrive in high-pressure environments and meet deadlines with confidence. Stay highly organized and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Inspire and lead the team toward successful project completion. Document project delays, challenges, and acceleration efforts. Ensure the company is fairly compensated for extras, change orders, and back charges.
