Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Vice President, National Dealer Distribution is responsible for expanding the Intrepid dealer network throughout the United States and Canada. This requires them to maintain in-depth knowledge of Intrepid products. This position is responsible for increasing sales by developing and maintaining relationships with customers and clients. Duties may include identifying prospective customers, following up on potential sales leads and maintaining relationships with existing customers. This position may also recommend marketing strategies designed for a target market. Additionally, they will schedule and perform product demonstrations with potential customers. Also follow industry trends to identify new opportunities for potential customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership Develop and execute the company's sales strategies, including OEM, dealer, distributor, and direct channels. Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts in the marine sector including boatbuilders, shipyards, commercial clients, and government/military sectors. Identify new market opportunities, emerging customer segments, and geographic expansion potential. Strategic Portfolio Management Oversee the strategic direction of product and service lines, ensuring alignment with customer demand, technological advancement, and competitive positioning. Conduct market analysis, customer segmentation, and competitive assessments to inform strategic decisions. Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to shape go-to-market strategies and pricing models. Ensure the marine portfolio meets performance benchmarks (profitability, market share, customer satisfaction). Cross-Functional Leadership Partner with teams to support product launches, promotional campaigns, and continuous improvement initiatives. Serve as a thought leader in marine technology trends, sustainability, regulatory changes, and customer innovation. Present sales forecasts, performance reports, and strategic portfolio insights to the President of Intrepid Powerboats.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marine Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred. 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales and/or portfolio management in the marine industry (boat building, marine electronics, propulsion, components, etc.). Proven track record of driving revenue growth, managing P&L, and leading cross-functional teams. Deep understanding of marine product lifecycles, customer buying behavior, and supply chain dynamics. Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
