Job Description

Overview The Director of Engineering is responsible for directing, overseeing, and utilizing functional authority for operation, planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of all projects or process-related activities of engineering design or commissioning. Responsibilities Directs a design team of project managers, engineers, and technical staff in the development of building designs that support client requirement and schedule. Directs a commissioning team of commissioning agents, and commissioning technicians to perform the commissioning team functions that support client requirement and schedule. Delegates projects among engineering or commissioning staff according to specialized knowledge, skills and abilities; and consider project requirements. Approves process specification and design or commissioning standards, and reviews engineering designs for accuracy and compliance. Maintains a strong relationship with clients and vendors, and develops new and expanded business based upon successful delivery of existing projects. Qualifications Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a 4-year accredited program.
Acceptable Degree Alternatives:
Engineering Technology / Construction Management Degree. 5 years minimum experience as a Project Manager.
Alternative Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 15 years of experience as a Project Manager for the Company. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project experience. Professional Engineering License. Must be able to lead presentations for marketing and business development for projects. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment. Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors. Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary. Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications Project Management Certification from a certifying agency (PMI) Travel Requirements 30% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location. Physical/Work Environment Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Climbing stairs. Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Quiet environment. Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds. Be able to attend job site meetings as well as walk job sites under construction. #LI-CL1
