Our facility is dedicated to the disassembly, inspection, repair, and maintenance of aircraft engines while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence. As part of Hanwha Group, a Fortune Global 500 company founded in 1952, Hanwha AeroTechnix combines global innovation with technical expertise to deliver advanced aerospace solutions that support customers worldwide. Overview We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Engineering to lead all engineering and technical support functions within our Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance and repair activities are supported by accurate engineering data, compliant technical solutions, and approved repair processes in accordance with FAA, EASA, OEM, and customer requirements. The Director of Engineering will drive technical excellence, repair capability development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across engine and aircraft maintenance operations while supporting business growth and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all engineering activities supporting MRO operations, including repair development, troubleshooting, and technical dispositions Provide final technical authority on complex maintenance, repair, and engineering issues Oversee development, approval, and control of engineering instructions, repair schemes, and technical data Support engine teardown, inspection, repair, and assembly processes with engineering expertise Evaluate OEM documentation, service bulletins, and engineering orders for implementation Ensure all engineering solutions comply withFAA, EASA, OEM
manuals, and Part 145 regulatory requirements Support regulatory audits, customer audits, and technical reviews Maintain technical records integrity, configuration control, and engineering traceability Collaborate with Quality and Inspection teams to resolve non-conformances and technical findings Provide real-time technical support to Production, Maintenance, and Field Service teams Resolve technical issues affecting turnaround time, quality, and production flow Drive repair capability expansion through innovation, alternate repair solutions, and process optimization Identify opportunities for cost reduction through engineering improvements and repair development Evaluate and implement new technologies, tooling, and repair methods Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Sales teams to support organizational objectives Support "repair vs. replace" decisions to optimize operational and financial outcomes Provide technical input for customer proposals, commercial opportunities, and capability presentations Align long-term technical development with business growth strategy Experience & Skills Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field required (Master's preferred) 8-15+ years of experience in aviation engineering, MRO technical services, or OEM environments Strong knowledge ofFAA, EASA, OEM
